Kultchafi has created, through Cultural Responsiveness Training (CRT), the opportunity for a paradigm shift in the way in which First Nations Peoples of Australia is understood and engaged with in mainstream society.
CRT embeds participants in the reality of yesterday, today and tomorrow which encompasses the intergenerational trauma of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, where there has been no relief from the depth of the loss.
It also acknowledges and respects the ability of Indigenous peoples to make decisions about their own health and wellbeing within an ancient healing framework that is based on the Aboriginal Law of Obligations and Reciprocity.
Key Points:
– Developed by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to share with non-Indigenous peoples.
– Based on seven Principles and seven key Understandings of Aboriginal Spirituality.
– Set within an Aboriginal Terms of Reference and based on Reconciliatory Principles.
– Approved and validated by Elders and Traditional Owners across Australia's States and Territories.
– Stories, narratives, vignettes delivered within a dialogical and experiential learning framework. All are contextualised.
– First CRT training package delivered in 2006 and now recognised nationally.
– Learning packages delivered across health, academic, community, disability organisational platforms.
– Delivered to both non-Indigenous an d Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
